Do I have to file taxes if I made little on normal jobs but more on self employment?

Ekamai asked:

I made less than $3,000 on normal jobs last year, but over $4,000 on self employment.

I know that you have to file self employment if its over $400. But does this mean I have to file the $3,000 i made on normal jobs too? (Because I thought you dont have to file taxes if you made less than so much on normal jobs)

How does self-employment tax work for Sole Proprietorship?

Jason L asked:

What happens if you make $20,000 through your full time job, and $0 through self employment? Do you pay $0 for the self employment tax as a self proprietor? Or, do you still have to pay using $20,000 as the total income? Please help me someone. Thanks.
